The Lirpa Sloof Foundation is pleased to announce the 3rd Quarter 2004 Sloof Amateur Project Grant goes to the Ninety Nines, an international organization of licensed women pilots based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The grant is in the form of fifty brand new Cessna 172 aircraft.

Dr Lirpa Sloof, founder of the Sloof Foundation and a licensed pilot herself, said "the Ninety Nines inspire women everywhere to learn to fly and become experienced pilots. We know this grant will help the organization promote aviation among women at a time when aviation education has experienced some strain in recent years."

The grant includes creation of an account to be managed by the Foundation which will cover fuel, insurance, maintenance and ramp space for these planes at dozens of general aviation airports across the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.
